Ukraine celebrates its 33rd Independence Day

Today, August 24, all Ukrainians celebrate a special holiday - the Independence Day of Ukraine. The country's third main holiday takes place in conditions of full-scale war. Currently, the struggle of the Ukrainian people for a future free from Russian invaders continues for 913 days.

Back in the 9th century, the Kyiv state was one of the most powerful Eastern European countries. The rulers of Kievan Rus built a strong state while Moscow was only a swamp. However, the Russian Empire and its successor always aspired to greatness, and therefore Russians created many myths about Kyivan Rus as the first Russian state. And they forgot that Moscow was founded by Yury Dolgoruky, the son of Volodymyr Monomakh, the glorious prince of Kyiv.

On December 1, 90.32% of Ukrainians gave an affirmative answer to the question "Do you confirm the Act of Proclamation of Independence of Ukraine?". 83.9% of the total number of voters in Donetsk region voted for the Declaration of Independence. On August 24, 1991, an extraordinary extraordinary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada of the Ukrainian SSR was convened. On this day, the "Act of Proclamation of Independence of Ukraine" was adopted.

Ukraine does not belong to Russia, no matter how much Russia would like it. Ukrainians have been defending their right to independence for many years, and today they are forced to defend it with blood, protecting every piece of their land.
