The Ukrainian world lightweight champion Vasily Lomachenko received the award of the best boxer of 2019 according to the World Boxing Organization (WBO). He took part in a meeting of the WBO Congress in Tokyo, where during an official ceremony he was awarded.
This year, the boxer has had two fights. In April he knocked out Anthony Kroll, and in August defeated Luke Campbell on points. In 2020, Lomachenko can win the title of absolute world champion. The Ukrainian will fight with the winner of the IBF belt contest between Richard Comm from Ghana and American Teofimo Lopez, who will meet on December 14 in New York.
