What to do in Kyiv with kids? One of the most popular of the capital’s sights is Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, built in the 11th century. The monastery is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. This year, the Great Lavra Bell Tower hosts St. Nicholas' Residence, which you should definitely visit with your children. This is reported by Vechirniy.Kyiv.
For the first time, the Residence is presented in charming winter patterns of the Samchikivka painting and fantastic colors of the kaleidoscope of the art of patchwork sewing (NGO "Masters of patchwork Sewing of Ukraine"). On the ground floor there is an exhibition «Fairy tales of the peoples of the world» - a town of fairy-tale heroes with author's dolls, created by famous masters of the International Association of Handicrafts from all over Ukraine and children's creative teams in different techniques: papier-mache, porcelain, plastic, textiles, felting, patchwork, wood, cotton, paintings embroidered with ribbons, fluorescent yarns, painted by a pounder and others. The doors of the Residence of St. Nicholas will be open until December 29, 2019, and the exhibition "Fairy Tales of the World" will be on display until January 19, 2020.
