From November 28 to December 4, the 19th New British Cinema Festival will be organized by the British Council in Ukraine and film distributor Arthouse Traffic. This year's festival program is consistently saturated with Cannes winners, favorites of British awards and festival hits. The screenings of the festival take place in the cinema "Zhovten".
The guest of honor at the New British Cinema Festival will be director Agneshka Holland, three-time Oscar nominee, writer of films by Krzysztof Keslowski and Andrzej Wajda, director of the episodes of the cult TV series "Listening", "Cards." She will visit Kiev to personally present the historical thriller The Price of Truth to Ukrainian audiences. The joint production of the UK, Ukraine and Poland tells the story of Welsh reporter Gareth Jones, who first declared the Ukrainian Holodomor in the Western press.
This is an annual festival that takes place at Zhovten Cinema. All films of the festival are shown in the original language with subtitles.
