On October 4, a demonstration of ikebana art with the participation of Professor Furukava Hirotaka took place in the Column Hall of the Kyiv City State Administration. His traditional Japanese-style flower arrangements will be a part of the exhibition, which will last from October 5 to October 8. This is reported by the press service of the Administration.
In addition to the works of Japanese masters, the exhibition will exhibit compositions of fresh flowers created by Ukrainian craftsmen. Traditional Japanese arts workshops and curatorial excursions will also take place during the exhibition. According to the coordinator, teacher of ikebana Valentyna Koval, this cultural event is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Ukrainian branch of the Japanese school of ikebana Ikenobo. On the occasion of the anniversary, Professor Furukawa Hirotaka, who will be assisted by the renowned ikebana master Professor Yamada Midori, will visit Kyiv.
The exhibition will be held at the initiative of the Ukrainian Branch of the Ikenobo Institute of Ikeboob in Eastern Europe, in cooperation with the Ukrainian-Japanese Center of KPI named after Igor Sikorsky with the support of the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine and Kyiv City State Administration.
