The Ukrainian film "Weightlifter" ("Shtangist") has entered the competition program of the Sarajevo Film Festival, which will take place on 16-23 August, 2019. According to the website of the festival, the film is included into the European Shorts section. This year, the European Shorts section of the 25th Sarajevo Film Festival boasts 13 films hailing from 10 European countries.
The director of the film is Dmytro Sukholytkyy-Sobchuk. It was created in co-production of Ukraine and Poland. It tells us a story about the price of a victory in professional sports. The picture shows the life of a weightlifter, preparing for important competitions. The main role in the film was played by a non-professional actor Oleksandr Loi.
