Ukrainian animation film "Mavka. Forest Song ", created on the motives of Lesya Ukrainka's play, will be shown in Germany, according to Film.ua. During the Cannes film market, the German-Austrian distributor Koch Films purchased a package of rights to show the cartoon "Mavka. Forest song "of the Animagrad studio in Germany and the German-speaking countries of Europe: Austria, Alto Adige, German-speaking Luxembourg, Liechtenstein and Switzerland. Under the terms of the agreement, the premiere of the Ukrainian cartoon will be held at the cinemas of these countries.
It should noted that over the past year the project has been presented on key film markets of the world and attracted the attention of many international buyers and distributors. The rights to the show were sold to Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, Portugal, Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro.

Project "Mock. Forest Song" won the 9th competition of the State Agency of Ukraine for Movie in September 2016 and received state funding of 30% of the total budget. Experts from leading ethnographic institutes - Department of Folklore Studies of Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University, Museum named after Ivan Gonchar, Museum of Ukrainian Fashion History have been working as a film crew on the interpretation of Ukrainian myths, legends, beliefs, ceremonies and visual culture. The soundtrack to the cartoon was created by the famous musical band "DakhaBraha".
The preliminary date of the cartoon's readiness is 2020, but the exact date of the Ukrainian screening is yet unknown.
