On June 20, Kyiv presented an innovative and unique space for Ukraine - smart-street, according to BigKiev. It appeared due to the joint efforts of Kyiv Smart City initiative and KAN Development company.
The first "smart" street is located within the street Salyutna and is a vivid example of how innovative devices can make life in the city comfortable and safe. In addition to free city Wi-Fi, tanks for sorting garbage and bicycle paths, the first stationary air quality monitoring system in Ukraine is installed there. The sensor measures the concentration of fine dust (PM2.5 and PM10), the level of formaldehyde (CH2O), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), carbon monoxide (CO), oxygen (O2), carbon dioxide (CO₂), and also fixes temperature and humidity.
Besides, 12 CCTV cameras are installed, "intelligent" lighting, which automatically changes depending on the intensity of the movement, saves energy, and ramps and relief cover will facilitate the movement of people with disabilities. There are also two recharging stations for electric cars, solar power panels with a USB charging bench and an emergency call button.
