Do you like classic music? On Friday, June 14, a special concert of classical music Classic picnic. Cinema will be held in the Shevchenko Park.
The Open Music project of the city invites for a special concert that will take place in Taras Shevchenko Park in Kyiv. Myroslava Kotorovich's creative workshop and Artehatt Chamber Ensemble will perform well-known masterpieces of world classical music, which became motion picture soundtracks. The 2-hour concert will feature music from 8 1⁄2 (Eight-and-a-half), Dolce Vita, Schindler's List, Inglorious Freaks, Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors, and others. Musician's stories will be presented by Mariana Holovko. The entrance is free.
"We strive to create a new kind of cultural leisure, to make classical music closer to people, taking it from the walls of concert halls and conservatories into the open space. The format of performances is intended to give a new life and a modern interpretation of the tradition of urban concerts", said the author of the project Maria Didkovska.
And after the concert the guests will get a surprise. The agency Leo Burnett Ukraine will launch the Cannes Consulate. On the big screen commercials that are potential winners of the Cannes Lions Festival (Cannes Lions) will be shown. This is the largest festival and the most prestigious prize in the advertising and creative industry of the world.
The event starts at 19.00. The ground will be equipped with seats for guests, children's play areas will be arranged for children.
The Open Music project of the city started in 2018. About five free open-air concerts of classical music were held in Taras Shevchenko Park and on the site in front of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine. Over 10,000 Kyiv residents and guests of the capital visited the concerts.
