When Reactor No 4 at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant exploded in April 1986 in Ukraine, no one could even imagine the scope of the tragedy. The Soviet Union did best to hide the information about the explosion.
A five-part mini-series ‘Chornobyl’ starting in May on HBO (in coproduction with the British network Sky) tell us about all these tragic events. The first episode is called 1:23:45 - this is the exact time of the accident at the Chernobyl NPP. The next episode entitled Please Remain Calm will be released on May 13th.
The director of the series was Johan Renk (Breaking Bad, Vikings, The Walking Dead). The main roles were played by: Jared Harris (Sherlock Holmes: The Game of Shadows, Trerorror), Emily Watson (Breaking the Waves, Book Thief) and Stellan Skarsgard (Nymphomaniac, Thor, Mamma Miya). Read the rewiew.
